Modern Music Education

The Fiore Method

At Fiore Music all of our instructors teach with a modern approach to contemporary music. Rather than excessive emphasis on mass produced instructional books, we instruct students in a way to prepare them for playing modern styles including, but not limited to:

*Rock
*Jazz
*Country
*Blues
*Latin
*Folk

Skills taught at Fiore Music include:

*Music Theory
*Technique
*Scales and Modes
*Rudiments
*Chart Reading
*Improvisation
*Style and Feel
*Practice Discipline

One of the most important parts of our teaching is allowing the students to learn the songs of their choice. This promotes them to become self motivating and we have found students feel more fulfilled when playing what they like.

Once the students achieve a level of competance on their instrument, they are placed into bands with their fellow students. We encourage the students to name their own bands and choose their own song lists.

After the bands learn enough songs to perform we then provide concerts at local venues for them to showcase their talent in front of live crowds.

Finally, once the bands begin composing their own original songs (with assitance from Fiore Music instructors) they record and produce their own CD in house at Fiore Music.

Band Instruction

Fiore Music now also offers instruction to full bands. Mostly composed of our students, we arrange weekly 1 hour rehearsals for student bands. The students are then coached by Fiore instructors and assistants in learning and practicing songs, as well as in composing and recording original songs. A monthly concert is hosted at a local venue where all of the bands have an opportunity to perform before a live audience.

Band instruction is open to the general public, but it is offered to students of Fiore instructors at a discounted rate.
